Refreshment Training Fire

Refreshment Training Fire

In order to refresh knowledge and retrain Fire officers' skills in dealing with and overcoming fire situations in the work area, SJA 3 carried out Fire Refreshment Training on May 24 2024 and June 6 2024. Each of these activities consists of two sessions, namely material and practice.

In practice, a fire extinguishing simulation is carried out using a hydrant. This simulation is carried out by dividing teams, where each team member is given a role. There are those who are the team commander, the nozzleman (the role who wears an orange shirt and directs the water to the fire), the hoseman (the role who controls the hose), and the hydrant pump section (the role who controls the hydrant tap). The hydrant equipment itself includes a hydrant pillar, nozzle, indoor hose (2), outdoor hose (1), spray gun and Y connection. Meanwhile, the PPE used by officers is a helmet, fire jacket, fire safety shoes, fire gloves, respirator and SCBA.

The following is a scenario from a fire extinguishing simulation using a hydrant:

1. Briefing from the team commander, in the form of division of tasks and extinguishing strategies;
2. Preparation, where the nozzleman uses fire equipment and the hoseman positions the hose;
3. Extinguishing, where the team commander gives the signal to the hydrant pump officer to open the tap, then the nozzleman directs it at the fire until the fire is extinguished. If it goes out, the team commander gives the signal to the pump officer to close the hydrant tap;
4. Tidy up the tools used, namely rolling up the hose and removing the water in the hose, and removing the PPE.

By providing this material and direct training, Fire officers are expected to be able to anticipate fire situations in the work area, even though undesirable conditions are not expected to occur.
